Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette has revealed that he wants Alexis Sanchez to remain at the club amid speculations over the Chilean’s future.
The Frenchman arrived at the Emirates last summer amid several transfer talks, with reports that the former Lyon striker wanted to join Atletico Madrid as replacement for Antoine Griezmann who was Manchester United bound.610
But the 26-year-old switched his gaze and joined Arsenal instead due to a transfer ban that restricted Atleti from signing players till the next January window, while Griezmann also remained at Atletico Madrid, signing a new deal with the La Liga giants.
Lacazette has shown promising signs since he joined the Gunners and believes he could form a formidabble partnership with transfer bound, Alexis Sanchez after starting just two games with the Chilean attacker.
Speaking about his move to Arsenal, Lacazette said: ‘That’s also one of the reasons why I wanted to come to Arsenal – to play with players of [Alexis’] calibre. ‘Just seeing him in training, I like the way he plays and his mental attitude.’
Despite the striker’s admiration of Sanchez, the Chilean is keen on leaving Arsenal at the end of season as a free agent after the club blocked a deadline move to Manchester City.
