Liverpool attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho has assured the club fans that he has put his future aside amid speculation over his time at Anfield.
The 26-year-old was a subject of transfer interest from Barcelona during the just concluded transfer window, with reports that the Brazilian was also keen on the transfer to materialise and even submitted a transfer request during the late days of the window after waiting patiently for most parts of the summer.
However, the Reds were adamant on not allowing their star player leave last summer, rejecting three massive bids from the Catalan giants much to the dismay of Coutinho who was reportedly devastated by the news.
The former Inter Milan star has now re-integrated into Liverpool’s squad and was on show as they defeated Leicester City last weekend in the Premier League and was also part of the team that played out a 1-1 draw against Spartak Moscow.
Speaking after the game, Coutinho re-assured the fans that he is calm and focused on defending the colours of Liverpool by giving his maximum while stressing the disappointing draw against Spartak in Russia.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp will hope his boys are in their best form when they face Newcastle after wasting a lot of chances against their European opponents on Tuesday night.
