Chelsea legend Pat Nevin has claimed that the performances of Andreas Christensen is one of the positives to take from their 1-0 defeat to Manchester City.
The Blues fell to a narrow loss in the hands of the league leaders, City at the Stamford Bridge much to the dismay of the clubs fans who questioned Antonio Conte’s decision to start a rather strange lineup against one of their fierce rivals.
The Danish defender was out on loan for two seasons in the German Bundesliga with Borussia Monchengladbach, and has been given the opportunity to prove his worth under Conte after putting up decent displays in the Bundesliga.
Christensen was given the chance to deputise for suspended David Luiz in the clash against Manchester City, and Nevin believes the young defender did well to curb the attack threats from City attacking trio of Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane who are clearly on top form with the impressive form since the start of the current campaign.
Luiz on the otherhand, has been criticised for switching off during their matches that saw the Premier League champions concede some easy goals this season. But it does seems like Christensen will keep the Brazilian out of the starting lineup.
