Chelsea are considering Carlo Ancelotti as a potential replacement for Antonio Conte according to reports.
The Italian boss who was recently relieved of his duties at Bayern Munich, has been tipped to take over from his compatriot at the Stamford Bridge, following reports that Conte and the Chelsea hierarchy are not on the best terms due to some reasons.
Reports in the Sun claim that sources at Chelsea believe Antonio Conte will not remain at the helms of affairs at the club, despite his current contract expiring in June 2019 and have started scouting for replacements for the Italian.
The Sun also have it that Ancelotti has been shortlisted as a likely candidate to replace Conte due to his longstanding history with the club during his time with them.
The former Bayern Munich was sacked at the Stamford Bridge in 2011 due to his inability to win a trophy in his second year at the club.
It is also understood that Ancelotti is also aware of Chelsea’s interest and will fancy a move to the Stamford Bridge in a bid to get a second shot to prove himself with the Blues.
Conte has not hidden his desire to return to Italy someday despite winning the Premier League title with Chelsea in his debut season.
