Leicester City boss Claude Puel has insisted that he will keep Riyad Mahrez at the club amid interest from the likes of Chelsea, Roma and Arsenal.
The Foxes attacker has been a subject of transfer interest from a couple of clubs in Europe following heroics that saw them win the Premier League two seasons. The Algerian was believed to be closing in on a move to Chelsea the following summer after he was spotted at their team hotel amid intense rumours but he eventually renewed his deal at King Power stadium to fend off interest from prying clubs.
Last summer window, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is said to have held talks with Leicester City over a potential move for Mahrez, with reports that the former champions will do business for 50 million pounds. However, the deal yet again stalled as the Gunners were not ready to spend that much on the Algerian.
Chelsea and Roma were understood to have held talks with the player’s representatives ahead of a move which did not eventually materialise due to Leicester’s huge demands.
Speaking about Mahrez’s future at the club, Puel said he will not be selling any of his players despite keen interest from a number of clubs following their involvement in the Champions League last season.
It is understood that Riyad Mahrez who has netted 37 goals in 149 appearances wants a move away from the King Power Stadium and will fancy a move to a bigger club in order to win trophies.
