Manchester United star midfielder Ander Herrera remains positive about his side’s premier league title chances and believes his club can still close the eight-point gap opened by league leaders Manchester City at the top of the premier league table.
Chelsea won the Manchester club at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon with Alvaro Morata handing his new side the winner in the 55th minute.
Few days before the game, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City thrashed Arsenal 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium to tighten their grip on the premier league trophy ahead of the international break.
And Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera, speaking after the defeat by Chelsea, said football is more about mistakes and that is why the Stamford Bridge club were able to score their goal.
The player also added that himself with his teammates are trying to put the defeat behind them so as to focus on the international break, as well as their next premier league game against Newcastle United immediately after the break.
“I have never seen a team winning the league in November.” he said.
There were speculations that Herrera is no longer in the good books of manager Jose Mourinho following his statements after their 3-1 defeat to Huddersfield Town some weeks back.
But Mourinho dismissed such rumours while speaking to newsmen before the game at Chelsea on Sunday.
