As controversial as he was during his 3-year spell at Stamford Bridge, there is no denying his achievements for the club. The manner of his departure to Atletico Madrid was largely criticised and with 59 goals scored is very much loved by the Blues’ fans.

His leadership qualities were second to known and his loyalty to the club – even choosing to play in the championship in order to avoid a meeting with Chelsea – will never be forgotten.
