Former England head coach Glenn Hoddle believes Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is not using Paul Pogba in the best position that can bring out the best from the Frenchman.
Glen believes playing Pogba simply as a sitting midfielder is not the best for the player.
The France international was awful last Wednesday when his side lost 2-0 to Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley, and he was replaced before full-time after some intense arguments with Mourinho.
Jose benched the Frenchman when his side won Huddersfield 2-0 on Saturday, using Scott McTominay in his place – though Pogba was later introduced in the second half.
But Glen believes Mourinho is also at fault for Paul’s form, and he feels the Portuguese manager is not using the player in his best role.
The former Chelsea boss usually guarantee Pogba a spot in the starting XI, playing him alongside Matic in a deep midfield role this term.
However, before he was replaced against Tottenham last week, the talented player showed every one of his desire to getting forward on the pitch.
And the former England boss asked Mourinho to start the Frenchman ’10 yards further ahead’.
He also asked the Old Trafford club to do everything necessary to bring out the best in their players.
