Barcelona manager Valverde has named the players he needs for Chelsea game on Tuesday at Stamford Bridge. The manager- who had earlier complaint about lack of maximum rest for his players- has released the name of players who will be travelling to the Stamford Bridge stadium, the venue for the much-anticipated game.
Thomas Vermaelen, who was earlier ruled out of the clash was surprisingly named among Barca’s squad by the Argentine manager.
The former Arsenal defender will be hoping to play in England for the first time after moving to Camp Nou in 2014 during Luis Enrique’s time as the Catalans manager.
Portuguese defender Nelson Semedo will take no part in the fixture having been suspended in their last fixtures.
Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez is another player who will be returning to England after playing for Liverpool before making a huge-money switch to Barcelona. Suarez has been phenomenal for the Catalans and he will be hoping to find the back of the net against the Blues on Tuesday.
Phillippe Coutinho was left out by Valverde as he had already represented Liverpool in the competition before he joined the Blaugrana in the previous transfer market.
Lionel Messi- as expected- made the squad who will be travelling to the West London club for Tuesday clash. The Argentine will hope to break his unwanted goalscoring record against the Blues. He is yet to score against the Blues since he started his professional career.
