Chelsea are reportedly set to make an offer to Real Madrid for a possible transfer of Brazilian midfielder Casemiro, according to Spanish Don Balon.
The 25-year-old has been a key player in Zinedine Zidane’s team since joining the Santiago Bernabeu outfit. He hasn’t only made himself an undisputed player for Zidane but he has also become one of the finest defensive midfielders players in the world.
The Blues have been struggling in the middle of the pitch so far this season despite signing Tiemoue Bakayoko and Danny Drinkwater from Monaco and Leicester City respectively in the summer.
Both players have failed to establish themselves as reliable midfielders for the Blues and Antonio Conte is considering buying the Brazilian so as to partner Ngolo Kante whose performance hasn’t been up to fans’ expectations.
After selling Nemanja Matic to Manchester United during the summer transfer window before the start of the current campaign, Chelsea have found it hard to get a capable replacement for him but they believe Casemiro could be the perfect player to fill the void created by the Serbian switch to Old Trafford.
Casemiro is set to cost the Blues a whopping sum of £176m according to Diario Gol. It is yet to be seen if Roman Abramovich will be willing to pay such amount for the 25-year-old player.
