Despite enduring a tough start to his Arsenal career in the league, Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been phenomenal for the Gunners in European competition so far with his latest mind-blowing performance coming against AC Milan as he inspired the Gunners to a 2-0 away victory over the San Siro outfits.
Arsene Wenger has had a week to forget after recording four straight defeats and his men require an extra inspiration to return them back to winning ways especially against AC Milan in the Europa League competition.
New boy Mkhitaryan and the club’s highest paid player Mesut Ozil were just the inspiration that the Gunners needed to defeat their Italian opponents as both players were a handful for AC Milan defense to cope with.
Germany playmaker Mesut Ozil was all over the pitch as he proves to fans and the club hierarchy that he worth his current weekly wages of £300k. He had some mesmerizing play throughout the encounter and he almost grabbed an assist in the early stage of the encounter but Mkhitaryan’s shot struck the woodwork.
Mkhitaryan finally broke the deadlock, thanks to Mesut Ozil whose pass was topnotch and accurate.
Arsenal scored the second goal of the night via Aaron Ramsey who returned to Wenger’s starting lineup after the injury which ruled him out of action for two matches. Ozil was also available to make a defence-splitting pass to the Welshman who made no mistake to put the ball into AC Milan’s net.
Though Ozil was lively throughout the game but Mktarryan’s performance caught the eyes of reporters and he was asked the difference between playing for Manchester United and Arsenal.
The Armenian revealed that it’s too early to compare both clubs but he feels more comfortable at the Emirates stadium than at Old Trafford.
The player was sparingly used by Mourinho but he has been enjoying much playing-time under Arsene Wenger since he switched to the club in January.
