Liverpool to Rival Chelsea and Real Madrid for Roma’s Netminder
Liverpool are willing to break their transfer record in order to complete a transfer move for Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker ahead of Chelsea and Real Madrid who are both keen on the player’s signature.
The Merseyside club are reportedly in haste to sign Alisson due to the uncertainty surrounding their current goalkeepers – Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius.
According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, German manager Jurgen Klopp has pleaded with the club’s hierarchy to make an official approach to the player’s agent over a possible switch to Anfield stadium ahead of next season.
In their bid to beat their rivals to Alisson’s signature, the Reds have reportedly tabled a whopping sum of £71m contract offer for the shot stopper.
Having seen their bids for David De Gea and Thibaut Courtois rejected by Manchester United and Chelsea respectively during the last transfer market, Real Madrid are now monitoring the 25-year-old netminder who has been in fine form for the Serie A side this campaign.
Arsenal are also keeping a close eye on the keeper as Arsene Wenger wants a worthy replacement for 33-year-old goalkeeper Petr Cech in the summer.
