It is no longer news that Arsenal are eyeing a possible move for Freiburg star Caglar Soyuncu in the summer as part of Mislintant’s overhauling process before they hire a new manager who would continue the reinforcement in the summer.
The Gunners are yet to get Wenger’s replacement and that has given the former Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director the opportunity to list some players he would love to see at the Emirates Stadium ahead of the upcoming season.
The latest rumour surrounding Mislintant’s desire to sign Soyunco via The Telegraph suggest that Arsenal are ready to table a £35m contract for his signature as they hope to beat Bayern Munich in the race to sign the 21-year-old centre-back.
The defender was a regular starter for the Bundesliga side in the just-concluded season, his stellar performances throughout the season has endeared him to Mislintant.
Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta, who is reportedly the favourite manager to replace Arsene Wenger, has revealed his plan to name his former Arsenal and Spain teammate Santi Cazorla as his assistant manager should he eventually become the Gunners boss in the summer.
Cazorla was one of the best midfielders in the League before his unfortunate injury which ruled him out of action for more than two years. Though the Spaniard has returned to full recovery, he seems not too fit to continue his playing career in the coming season.
