Juventus left-back Alex Sandro is on his way to Manchester United according to reports via Italian media outlet La Stampa.
The Brazilian left-back has been a longtime target for José Mourinho since two previous transfer periods but all of his attempts to snatch him from Juventus were unsuccessful.
But according to the Turin based media publication, United are ready to make a €50m move for the Brazilian as part of their desire to provide a more competitive defensive setup for the Portuguese manager in the 2018-19 season.
The deal is also said to involve Matteo Darmian’s switch to the Turin outfits. The Dutchman has failed to impress since Mourinho took charge of the team and he might be heading to the Serie A giants in a bid to rejuvenate his career.
Should Juventus accept United’s offer for Sandro’s services, the Red Devils could confirm the signing of the nine-goal defender before the end of May.
Having spent three seasons with the Old Lady, Sandro has appeared in 113 matches, scoring nine goals despite playing at the back of the pitch.
He hasn’t been too superb throughout the season, no thanks to his recurring injuries that kept him out of action for most of the season.
Due to his injury problems, Maximiliano Allegri dropped him from his starting lineup as he prefer using Ghanaian star kwado Asamoah at the left-back position.
