The Old Trafford club, according to reports appears to have re-ignited their interest in Real Madrid star Tony Kroos largely due to Micheal Carrick’s retirement.
The veteran midfielder recently hung up his boots to mark the end of an illustrious era and the club is set to offer the Englishman a coaching role.
Reports claim United boss Jose Mourinho is keen on landing replacements and has reportedly earmarked Tony Kroos as a suitable fit for Carrick’s position.
The Germany international is a first team regular for club and country and his dynamism and influence could prove a masterstroke in curbing the worrisome lack of creativity in United’s central areas.
Ans report from Spanish news outlet, Don Balon, suggests a move could be on the cards due to Kroos apparent desire to test himself in new waters, after virtually winning numerous accolades during a trophy-laden spell at Bayern Munich and current Champions League holders, Real Madrid.
The Red Devils are also reportedly keen on a move for the 28- year -old, teammates, Luka Modric and Gareth Bale, and reports suggest the club would be willing to include either Anthony Martial or Paul Pogba as a sweetener in any of the deals.
