Liverpool and Nigerian Lanky striker Taiwo Awoniyi, who is presently on loan at Royal Excel Mouscron, might be loaned out for the third straight season, according to report in Belgium.
The youngster hasn’t played a single match for the Reds, due to work permit issue, since he joined the Merseyside club in the 2015-16 season.
According to Belgian publication SudInfo, Jurgen Klopp would take a close look at his performance during the upcoming pre-season tour which would see them play Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
They also report that Liverpool board members are not ready to partway with Awoniyi as they believe in his qualities to become one of their greatest assets in the nearest future. They are willing to offer him a new deal which will keep him with the club till 2022, as reported by the Belgian media outlet.
Meanwhile, Club Brugge and Mouscron are both eyeing a loan deal for the youngster in the summer after his impressive goalscoring ratio towards the end of the season.
In other Liverpool news, the Reds confirmed the signing of Chelsea 20-year-old midfielder Christie-Davies as a free agent. The youngster left the Stamford Bridge Stadium after Chelsea’s failure to offer him a new deal.
