Having won Chelsea’s academy player of the season, Reece James seems to be the latest fans’ favorite as they are calling for his inclusion to the first-team squad ahead of next season.
The youngster has been in fine form for the young Blues side this season and that seems to be the reason for fans’ unending calls on the next manager to give the youngster the chance to lay claim for a place in the first-team.
James was the captain for the young Chelsea team that won this season FA youth cup after beating Arsenal in the final of the competition.
Apart from his leadership trait, James is a very talented and versatile player who can comfortably operate as a centre-back, right-back or right wing-back depending on manager’s tactical approach to games.
The Chelsea faithful believe he can give some first-team defenders — including Victor Moses, Gary Cahill, Zappacosta and Antonio Rudiger — a run for their money if given the chance to do so in the upcoming season.
In a mini poll conducted by footballfancast via their Twitter account, 96% of Chelsea fans want to see the 20-year-old in the main squad next term.
Meanwhile, Conte is unlikely to save his Chelsea job, even if he defeats Manchester United in tomorrow’s FA Cup final match. The Blues board of directors are determined to part way with the Italian manager as they are in desperate search for his replacement.
