Manchester United insists they won’t sell Anthony Martial this summer
Manchester United have refuted claims the club are looking to sell Anthony Martial this summer amid links with Chelsea and Juventus.
The 22-year-old endured a frustrating time at the club last term and have been limited to first team opportunities amid reports claiming Mourinho was clearly exasperated over the player’s inconsistencies.
The Frenchman’s agent Phillipe Lamboley revealed on Wednesday that his client Anthony Martial is interested in a moving away from Old Trafford after talks over a new contract appear to have reached an impasse.
It is reported that the stalling of his contract was due to the fact that Martial was not given assurances over a more prominent role at the club by Jose Mourinho, having just started eight times last term.
Chelsea and Juventus are said to be monitoring the player’s situation although the club have made known its intention of not selling the player, with the club keen on holding on to its talented youngsters.
Jose Mourinho though has stressed he won’t stand in any of his player’s way, should they seek to depart the club although it is claimed the forward hasn’t risen up the issue to the Portuguese in person.
