Champions League Blunder Cost Karius His Career As Liverpool Set To Sign 23-year-old Netminder

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius is set to lose his position as the Reds first-choice goaltender due to his against Real Madrid in last season’s Champions League final match.

Loris Karius pushed Simon Mignolet to the bench as he was preferred to start matches ahead of the Belgian international. His inexperience was one factor that acted against him during the match against Madrid as he hasn’t feature in any since he became a professional goaltender.

After his failure to produce a stellar performance for the Reds, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is ready to cash-in on his signature.

According to Italian media outlet Calciomercato, the German tactician has already made move to capture Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha this summer as Karius’  replacement.

The Albanian international was in fine form for the Serie A side during the previous campaign and that has endeared with a switch to the Anfield Stadium.

The 23-year-old is being tracked by Liverpool since last month and they are ready to capture his signature this summer window.

The report also claimed that Lazio are ready to partway with the youngster as long as Liverpool are ready to offer €30m for his services.

Alisson Becker and Thibaut Courtois have both been linked with the Blues but the Reds might miss out on both players.
