Arsenal’s Transfer Door Is Not Closed Yet
Having signed five first-team players and two youth teams player, reports which emanated from the Emirate Stadium yesterday claimed that there will be no new signings for the rest of the summer window.
The reports appears to be lacking a true component as latest reports claim that the Gunners manager Unai Emery is hoping to add one to two players to his team before the start of the season.
The former PSG boss told reporters last night that there is still a chance of bringing two players to his squad but that is if there is an extreme importance to do so.
According to the Spaniard, top clubs didn’t close doors on buying new players but as for him and the club’s hierarchy, they are not going to negotiate with other clubs for new players except there is an urgent need to do so.
The Gunners are still keen on getting Golovin as part of their plans for next season but they are presently behind Juventus in the race to capture the youngster’s signature.
The Turin club could unveil him to their fans in some weeks time, should the Gunners fail to block the deal from materializing.
Meanwhile, some players might still be shown the club’s exit door this summer. Iwobi, Lacazette, Welbeck, and Maitland-Niles are yet to know their respective fates under the new manager.

Why Arsenal must complete move for 44m-rated star in January
Premier League champions Manchester City are reportedly far from reaching an agreement with Raheem Sterling over a new contract, that’s according to the Guardian.
The England international joined the Etihad outfits from Liverpool for £44m in 2015 and he will see out the contract by the end of this season.
Though Guardiola has charged his employers to ensure the 23-year-old renew his contract, the club’s hierarchy are yet to convince the player into extending his deal with the team.
Arsenal must explore the contract saga between both parties to capture the player’s signature by launching a mouthwatering bid for the winger.
Since they parted ways with Alexis Sanchez — who joined Manchester United in the previous winter market, Arsenal are yet to find the perfect man to replace the Chilean at the right wing position.
Since Guardiola took charge of Manchester City, Sterling has improved tremendously and his end product is far better and impressive than his time at Anfield Stadium.
Though Unai Emery has a huge number of centre-forwards in the team, that can’t be said of a winger with great pace, direct run, fast decision-making ability, among others.
All of these traits plus goalscoring ability are all embedded in the 23-year-old winger and that makes him the best player to partner Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from the right side of attack.
His inclusion to the Gunners setup would surely make the Gunners frontline more deadly than ever.
Arsenal fans happy club didn’t hire 36-year-old manager
Manchester City were humiliated by Ligue 1 side Lyon at the Etihad Stadium last night, though, Pep Guardiola wasn’t in the dugout as he’s serving a match ban.
Due to the Guardiola’s absence, Mikel Arteta — who nearly replace Arsene Wenger but was beaten by Unai Emery — became the Citizens manager for the first time in his managerial career.
Though Arteta would be proud for making his debut appearance as a coach, yesterday’s result was unacceptable for a team who many tipped as favourites to win the Champions League trophy this season.
The Premier League title holder conceded two goals in the first period of the game but had to wait until the second half before scoring their first goal of the night which turned out to be a mere consolation.
Having seen Arteta’s lack of experience reflected in yesterday’s 2-1 defeat to Lyon, Arsenal fans took to Twitter to appreciate the club’s hierarchy for ignoring their former midfielder while choosing Wenger’s successor.
Here are some of their tweets via their respective accounts
Gaming Alimonda believes Arsenal dodged a bullet by hiring Emery rather than Arteta
Another fan felt for Arteta who made a losing debut last night. However, he praised Sven Mislintant for signing an experienced Unai Emery instead.
Lotterychef and Ashraf unanimously tweeted that the Gunners escaped Arteta’s bullet, claiming he would have brought more failures to the team.
To be fair to the former Arsenal midfielder, it’s is too early to criticize his coaching abilities.
It took Unai Emery three matches to get a win, therefore, Arteta needs more games to prove his qualities.
