Liverpool Break World Record To Confirm Their Third Summer Signing
Liverpool have once again broken the world record as they completed a £65m move for Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker last night.
The Reds broke a record last winter when the signed Virgil Van Dijk from Southampton in a £75m deal for the Dutchman, they have once again broken their record by making Alisson the world’s most expensive goalkeeper.
There have been lots of speculations surrounding the goalkeeper’s future before the start of world cup as he was linked with numerous clubs including Chelsea, Arsenal and Juventus.
The Brazilian was in top form for the Sambar Boys during the tournament, though, his heroic displays wasn’t enough to help his team go past the quarter-final round as they were defeated by Belgium.
Liverpool have been facing a goalkeeping crisis in recent seasons as Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius have both been prone to too many errors.
Now that the deal for the 25-year-old netminder has been completed, Loris Karius – who was the Reds first-choice goalkeeper last season – might be pushed to the bench or forced to move out of Anfield Stadium this summer
As for Mignolet, the Belgian netminder is set to move out of the Anfield Stadium as there are clubs vying for his signature despite his error-prone nature.
The Reds will be seeking to win their first trophy under Jurgen Klopp next season.
