Arsenal set to lodge a bid for Domagoj Vida should chambers depart

Arsenal are reportedly set to complete the signing of Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida should Calum Chambers loan move to Fulham be completed.

The youngster is poised for a  season loan spell to the Craven Cottage faithfuls and Arsenal are understood to be keen on replacing the Englishman with Vida.

The Croatian produced stellar displays for his National team at the recently concluded World Cup and that has prompted a widespread interest for the no-nonsense defender.

Reports from the Sun claim the Gunners are set to lodge in a 25 million bid but will have to sell off a number of unwanted players to raise up the required amount needed to complete the deal.

However, reports from another source have claimed the move could go through for 17.5 million pounds which appears lesser than the initial quoted sum.

An insider from the Turkish club also revealed that there has been concrete interests for the Crot but refused to disclose of talks have been held over a potential departure from Istanbul.

Vida’s agent Ugur Avadan publicly refuted claims the defender is set for an exit and insists the centre-back is seeking to become a legend at the club instead

However, such statements should be regarded with a pinch of statement with the player’s representatives obviously looking for a better deal for his client.
