Huge Blow For Arsenal As Youngster Wants To Remain With His Club

It is no longer news that Arsenal manager Unai Emery is hoping to wrap up this summer window with Ousmane Dembele’s signature as he has contacted Barcelona for the player.

Many thought the 22-year-old Frenchman is willing to reunite with his former Borussia Dortmund teammates Mkhtaryan and Aubameyang at the Emirates Stadium ahead of next season but that isn’t the case base on the player’s latest comment on the rumors linking him with a move to Premier League.

According to Dembele, he is happy at Camp Nou and he is ready to stay and fight for a place in Valverde’s starting lineup in the coming season.

“I’m staying at Barca, I’m ready to play the Super Cup.” Dembele was quoted by Spanish media Marca

Dembele broke Barcelona’s transfer record last summer when he completed a £96m move to the Catalans from Monaco, though, he is yet to justify the huge price paid for his services.

His first season with the Spanish giants was one to forget as he rarely spend much time on the field of play throughout the season.

Having signed Malcom from Bordeaux this summer, Valverde will need to be convinced by the Frenchman that he deserves a place in his starting lineup ahead of the Brazilian youngster, who is tipped as one of the best wingers in the game.

Despite Dembele’s decision to stay put at Camp Nou beyond this summer, Arsenal might still capture his signature later today should they offer an eye-catching bid for the youngster’s services.
