Liverpool Transfer News: Fabinho Denies United Transfer Rumors
Brazilian midfielder Fabinho has debunked rumors that claimed he was contacted by Manchester United before he joined the Reds this summer.
The Brazilian midfielder joined the Merseyside club from Monaco in the summer transfer window despite interest from top Premier League rivals including Manchester United.
According to reports via many transfer media outlets, the 24-year-old was targeted by Mourinho, who made an official approach towards capturing his signature but his bid was rejected by the former Ligue 1 Champions.
However, the versatile player has revealed that there was no bid made by Mourinho for his signature before he chose to sign for Liverpool.
While speaking to Sky Sports ahead of their clash with West Ham on Sunday, the midfielder said Monaco never stop him from joining Manchester United but the fact remains — he never gets any official approach from the Red Devils for negotiations.
Fabinho, alongside Naby Keita and Alisson Becker, are going to feature in the Premier League for the first time in their respective careers if they are given any game-time by Jurgen Klopp.
Though Shaqiri would be hoping to have his debut match for the Reds against the Hammers, it won’t be his first match in the League as he featured for Stoke City before their relegation to the Championship last season.
