Arsenal defeated Everton 2-0 last weekend at the Emirates Stadium to record their fourth consecutive victory of the season.

Goals from Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were all the Gunners needed to get pass the Merseyside club on Sunday.

Former Arsenal player Thierry Henry was in the stands during the game and he was happy to have seen his former club picked maximum victory against a stubborn Toffees side.

Meanwhile, after the enthralling clash, Arsenal captain Laurent Koscielny —who is currently out injured — walked up to the Gunners legend to exchange pleasantries with him.

The Gunners captain was pictured having a one-on-one discussion with his compatriot Thierry Henry on the field after the game.

Arsenal fans were delighted with their captain’s gesture and they lauded his humility.

In the same vein, the North London fans equally hailed Henry — who helped Belgium to a third-place finish at the Russia 2018 World Cup — for being present at the Emirates Stadium to cheer his former side to victory against a tough opponent.

Here are some tweets from the Gunners faithful who are currently enjoying what they are seeing under Unai Emery.

One fans wrote on his Twitter account

“The greatest French player with my favorite French player #gunners”

Another one added :

“The Emirates will always be your home King @ThierryHenry”

The third fan was full of Henry’s praise as he tweets “All hail the king @ThierryHenry.”

Aubameyang training

Arsenal star player Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been fined by UK high court for breaking speed law.

During his time in Germany, the Gabonese star was known for his over-speeding attitude. Since he arrived at North London, the former Borussia Dortmund striker hasn’t changed a bit.

However, he was caught by the UK police on Monday for over speeding in his Lamborghini and was charged to court.

According to the Sun, the player was fined by the court due to his speed.

The British media reported that the player was fined £1,250 and was warned to abide by the country’s driving code and conduct.

Luckily for him, his driving license hasn’t been taken away from him which mean he can still ride in his car.

Aubameyang seems to have returned back to his usual blistering form, after scoring against Everton on Sunday.

The player, who failed to score in the first two matches of the season, has now found the back of the net four times this season.

It remains unknown if Unai Emery would name the player in his first XI against Brentford on Wednesday.

In other Arsenal news, Emery has received great news from his medical team as Carl Jenkinson and Sead Kolasinac are back to full fitness.

Both players have missed a month action due to injury but they are back to training and they could be named in Emery’s starting XI ahead of their Carabao third-round fixture against Brentford.

Arsenal would miss out on a top-four finish despite their present brilliant run of results, that’s according to Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher.

The Gunners recorded their fourth straight victory following their 2-0 victory over Everton on Sunday, however, Carragher believes they are not ready to compete for a place in among top four clubs.

Speaking to Sky Sport, the ex-Liverpool defender claimed that Manchester United and Arsenal are going to miss out in the race for a Champions League qualifying spot, considering the way both clubs have played so far this season.

He believes losing to Chelsea and Manchester City will go a long way to hunt Unai Emery’s side in their desire to qualify for next season’s Champions League competition.

He also predicted that Manchester United are likely to finish this season in the fifth position due to their inconsistent performance.

United ended last season as runner-up to Manchester City, but Carragher believes the Red Devils are not going to achieve such feat neither are they going to better their last season’s achievement.

Nonetheless, It’s too early to predict who and where a club will finish the season as we are just six games into the season.

mesut ozil

Former Arsenal star and Skysports pundit Charlie Nicholas has admitted that Arsenal could partway with Mesut Ozil in January, should the player fail to improve his performance with the North London club.

The Sky Sports pundits claimed the German international hasn’t been in fine form for the team since the start of the campaign and he could be sold out to either Manchester United or any Chinese Super League club who are ready to spend big on the player’s signature.

While analyzing the player’s performance against Everton yesterday, Nicholas said he won’t be surprised if the Gunners couldn’t keep the player beyond this season due to his recent uninspiring displays for the team.

Though the player played a major role in the play up that led to Aubameyang’s goal, Nicholas said the 29-year-old was far from convincing at the right flank of attack.

According to him, Turkish giants Fenerbahce are interested in his service, they might make a huge money offer to the Gunners for his signature in January.

United are also said to be monitoring the German’s situation at the Emirates Stadium as Mourinho is hoping to reunite with him at Old Trafford in the second half of the season.

Ozil has played five Premier League matches this season, scoring a goal and assisting once. He was equally on target against Vorskla in the Champions League last week to help his team to a 4-2 victory against the Ukrainian side.
