Before the encounter against Chelsea in a pre-match conference interview, Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock admitted that he already showed interested in Chelsea player and he planned to have talks with the Blues with the aim of signing the Wales international Ethan Ampadu on loan in January
Ampadu has caught the eyes of so many fans and one of his admirals Pat Nevin encouraged the young lad to leave Chelsea on loan if he his not getting much playing time at the moment. So in the cause of the interview held in Cardiff, the boss quickly replied:
“They should loan him to us,” said Warnock
The current Chelsea player made his international debut at the age of 15 with Exeter before moving to Stamford Bridge. He showed his adroitness in his international debut against the Republic of Ireland: his composure, quick thinking and solo movement was world class: he eventually made one assist and received a standing ovation from the fans after leaving in 68 minutes.
According to Warnock speech about the versatile midfielder:
“He plays the game simple. He will have to quicken up a little bit when he gets higher up because he will get caught”
However, Warnock said he already had an eye for Stoke City player Joe Allen before he extended his contract and sees Ampadu as a potential player who can help his team remain in the Premier League.
