Eden Hazard is one outstanding player who also has peculiarity in taking penalties. He scored nearly all the penalties he’s taken, including the recent one which saw him become the first player to score a hat-trick this season.
Much credits was given to him by his former teammate, Asmir Begovic.
Begovic revealed that he’s saved Hazard’s penalties oftentimes but wonders how Hazard could gather huge momentum on the ball in a short run.
According to Begovic:
“I’ve saved a couple here and there. He has a very, very short run up.”
Many penalty takers have different qualities; they give long runs towards the ball but some goal keepers always know where to jump to as they atimes are given much time to decide.
We’ve seen different penalties this season, starting from Manchester United’s Paul Pogba, who tip-toed with slow movement towards the ball before striking it; to Chelsea’s Jorginho against Huddersfield, who Jumped a bit high to test the movement of the goalkeeper before striking the ball.
The Bosnia & Herzegovina shot stopper continued in his interview to divulge Hazard’s tricky penalties.
“If he opens up his foot to go one way, he makes you want to go that way, then he just turns his foot around and go the other way.”
The Belgian international was really incredible with his recent form and the way he has approached playing under many coaches.
From Chelsea’s point of view, I don’t think any other player wearing the Blue shirt can give the fans more sigh of relief than when Hazard decides to take the penalty.
