A former Manchester United winger Lee Sharpe has stated that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp now ranks higher than his counterpart Jose Mourinho in terms of ideas and performance.
According to Sharpe, Mourinho cannot level up with Klopp and other managers like Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola in terms of effectiveness.
He lamented that the football style being adopted by the former Chelsea manager is now outdated and ineffective.
The former winger noted that Mourinho was a king at his former side in London because his defensive kind of football worked at that time.
However, he stated that the pattern has been proven to be outdated by the introduction of attacking, high-pressing, quick-passing and quick moving football which has been introduced to England since the coming of the Liverpool manager.
Sharpe stated that with the playing style at Liverpool and Man City, all you see is forward-thinking and attacking players and that makes the game more interesting.
The legend added that with the playing style at Liverpool, more chances are being created which usually translates to goals. But the opposite is what we experience with the Portuguese manager side.
Sharpe statement is evident with the performances of both clubs as they now lead the League.
