It has been revealed that Chelsea have completed the capture of academy coach Jack Mesure from Crystal Palace.

The talented youth coach will now replace the Blues former youth coach Steve Hingham who left the club in the summer for Manchester United.

The 30-year-old was highly regarded and very popular at Palace but had to move on for reasons best known to him.

With an official announcement still expected from both clubs as at press time, the news was made public by London News Online.

Before his departure, Mesure spent about 10 years working with the youth team at Crystal Palace and will be missed.

Palace will now be faced with the headache of replacing Mesure with such level of pedigree and capability.

Chelsea are looking at improving their youth team in order to ensure they are promoted into the first team.

Most current Chelsea players were never youth players at the club and the London club is not known for the development of talents like United, Southampton.

It is important for the Blues to invest in their academies so as to hold the pride of nurturing a player from the youth stage to being a world class player.
